  • Flexibility; as a Family Day Care Educator, you can set your own working hours and days and set your own fees, all from the comfort of your own home. Within government regulations, you can choose how many children, and the ages of children, that you would like to care for.

Ongoing Support

We want you to succeed, so you can count on us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You’ll get all the training and resources you need to be successful. You can rely on us to be flexible and responsive to your needs - as we work together to provide an exceptional service for families.

All our Educators are encouraged visit us or call us with any feedback, concerns, or suggestions.

Home safety assistance

We’ll help you make your home a safe place for children - and for you, during care.

Regular home support visits

Whether you’re having trouble with a child, or you have a few urgent questions to ask, we can help you through our regular home visits. This is how we track the progress of the children, and give you any resources or advice to help you succeed with your placements.

Free training

There are so many challenges in your role as Educator and as Business Owner. We offer free training, including:

Montessori Education
Child protection
Routines and transitions
Promoting behaviour
Supporting vulnerable families
Exploring different cultures
Relaxing rest times / I don’t want to sleep
And more.

Selection Criteria

Having a genuine interest and dedication for children is a great start to becoming an Educator. A few other requirements are:

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services, First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis Certificate.

  • Understanding of and willingness to work under and abide by the Children's Services Regulations 2020, the Code of Ethics and the Child Safe Standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide a positive, inclusive environment that caters for all children’s needs

  • An understand and ability to provide a safe and hygienic environment suitable for the care of children aged from 0 - 12 years

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training

  • Willingness to adhere to all Montessori Kids FDC Policies

  • Ability to relate well to others and develop trusting relationships with children and parents

  • Ability to work independently and part of a team, and to deal with emergencies and unexpected events

  • Basic numeracy skills and ability to maintain accurate records

  • Current Police and Working with Children’s Check for all household members aged 18 years and over

  • Basic Montessori knowledge a bonus
